In February 2002 Xdin founded the Child Watabaran Center Nepal – an environmental school for street children in Kathmandu, Nepal. June 2007 saw the arrival of another CWCN sponsor in the form of the Dutch vehicle leasing company LeasePlan whose purchase of land has made possible the building of yet another school in Kathmandu. Now we will be able to look after even more children coming in off the streets

The point of CWCN is that we want to provide the street children in Kathmandu the opportunity to choose a different life to that on the streets. The aim is to reintegrate the children into a normal life in their society which we have been successful in doing for over a dozen children since we started in 2002.

Over 40 children receive a daily education at CWCN which now consists of two schools: one each for boys and girls. CWCN teaches the basic skills such as reading, writing and mathematics. In addition the children run two projects; Garden Service Center and Clothes Production Center with the purposes of learning practical gardening skills and skills in making clothes.
 
CWCN is run in cooperation with native employees and Swedish volunteers at the site. Through offering education, board and lodging, a practical training program and a modest initial capital for their future livelihood, CWCN will be able to reintegrate even more children in the years to come.

We value our clients very highly, but since Christmas 2001 we have not given any Christmas presents. Instead we have made a point of donating the money that would have gone on presents to increasing the resources at CWCN, which means that our clients are directly involved and are an active part of this project.
