Once more a brief summary of our little construction-project is at hand.

Another few weeks have passed by and another few events have occurred. At the construction-site the workers are deployed and preparation of soil and digging for fundament has been initiated. Unfortunately the country is experiencing lack of fuel, thus all things that get transported using fuel. There have been some changes to the material-specifications so that we use material that can actually be acquired (easier that way). In the end the quality of houses will not suffer.

The construction site is very different from the ones that can be found in Sweden. Swedish workers would not do things as things get done here and there are probably laws against it. Everything gets done by hand: digging, carrying and so forth. Protective gear: slippers and t-shirt. We try to go to the site as often as possible and for sure things get done between the visits, though a little machinery probably would not hurt.

If any of you are having a hard time keeping those leather-shoes clean I can really recommend coming here, one day in Kathmandu will give you a life-times worth of offerings for shoe-shines. And for those who think car-horns are not used as much as they ought to, this is your slice of heaven.

I should probably also mention that spring is here and my house has a roof-terrace, or maybe I shouldn’t have, hehe

Have a good time!
