XDIN PRIZE TO HALMSTAD UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

For the third year running Xdin in collaboration with the University of Halmstad have awarded a prize to students who in their examination assignments have demonstrated that they have amalgamated their forward-thinking and innovative skills with the theory gleaned from their academic engineering studies.

The University of Halmstad has been a user of Xdin’s educational material for many years and this was one of the reasons for us being approached with regard to awarding the prizes. Another reason for the increased level of collaboration is the intention of supplying both Xdin and the rest of the technology industry with new people who have the right competence!

This year’s prizewinner was Andreas Johansson for his construction of a wheeled lift device for wheelchairs, and Adam Jönsson and Andreas Persson for the construction of their gusset-cutting machine CPD08. Well done to you all and we look forward to hearing more from you in the future!

Andreas Johansson recieves his prize

Motivation: The student has in a very structured manner constructed a wheeled lift device for Etac Supply Center AB. Using digital tools he has been methodical in his use of, for example, finite elements and dynamic simulation early on in the project and thereby been able to determine the design of the product at an early stage of the product development. By using digital construction tools in combination with methodology the student has shown the importance of introducing advanced digital tools already during the conceptual stage.

Adam Jönsson & Andreas Persson recieve their prize

Motivation: The technology students have, aided by advanced digital tools, constructed a gusset-cutting machine where the importance of being able to digitally simulate the machine’s functions has been decisive. Their work has been carried out in a structured manner helped by the know-how they have accumulated during their education.
