CAD Engineer

Tasks

The mission of this role is to utilize standard engineering methods and procedures when performing engineering tasks on a basic complexity level and according to given conditions such as function, geometry, cost, quality, regulations etc. The designer is expected to follow established activity plans and processes when supporting a project or engineering process. Although CAD-documentation makes out a part of the ordinary work, the designer is expected to be able to develop technical solutions and add an engineering perspective to the documentation. The designer’s focus should be on gaining deeper knowledge in the own area of assignment, thus striving for accuracy and adherence to existing procedures.

Requirements

• Create or update CAD Models, Part Drawings, and Installation Drawings with CREO-Parametric

• CAD-documentation within a technical area, packaging verification and to create and document product structure in KOLA

• To develop, or support the development of, technical solutions on component or subsystem level working on given, short-term assignments in maintenance, projects and/or AE

• To utilize existing engineering tools, methods and processes and to follow general CVDE, GTT and DVP processes

• To learn internal tools and processes focusing on the assigned area

• To follow up quality status, run PROTUS cases and participate in Design Reviews; to participate in risk analysis, root cause analysis and FMEAs

• To, when applicable, participate in strategic sourcing and systematic ratio work for cost improvement

• Document design change notices and structure components in the PDM system

• Release components as applicable to resolve maintenance issues or secure project deliveries

• Communicate active project deliveries during Daily Team Leadership meetings

• Apply Quality Tools during the design phase and release process

• Have operational responsibility for a component or sub-module delivery

• Integrate deliveries from others and secure quality and readiness before release Education

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required Experience

• 4-6 years CAD design experience required

• Automotive or Heavy Duty Truck Knowledge in Chassis & Vehicle Dynamics experience is preferred

• Knowledge in Heavy Duty Truck Brake Systems is preferred

• Knowledge of GD&T and ability to apply to designs is preferred Software

• Working knowledge of PRO-E/CREO Parametric or related is required

• Proficient working knowledge in Product Data Management system is preferred Professional Skills
